IRCON International gets a new Director (Projects)

Gupta joined IRCON as General Manager in 2006 and has been overseeing projects granted to the PSU in Sri Lanka

New Delhi: Shyam Lal Gupta is set to take over as Director (Projects) at IRCON International as his name has been recommended by the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB). He is currently serving as Executive Director at IRCON.

His name was floated by the PESB after interviewing a total of six candidates. In the list of shortlisted candidates, three people, including Gupta, were from IRCON, one was from RITES, one candidate was from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd and one from CONCOR.

Gupta joined IRCON as General Manager in 2006 and has been overseeing projects granted to the PSU in Sri Lanka. He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee. Prior to joining IRCON, he has served as Deputy Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer in the Indian Railways.
