New Delhi: For exceptional work among central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) and promoting entrepreneurs under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories, the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has been announced as the winner under the Miniratna Category (Category II) by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

The performance parameters were based on the number of SC/ST entrepreneurs benefitted as per data uploaded on Sambandh Portal, the number of vendor development programmes for SC/ST and the procurement from SC/ST entrepreneurs, a release said.

About NFDC

NFDC, incorporated in 1975, was formed by the Indian government with the aim to plan, promote an organised, efficient and integrated development of the country's film industry. NFDC has so far funded/produced over 300 films in various Indian languages that have been widely acclaimed and have won awards at national and international level.

NFDC's primary activities comprise film production, including 100 percent finance for debutant directors, co-production with foreign and Indian filmmakers, promoting the country's films at film festivals around the world, the release added.

NFDC's film bazaar has now become one of the leading platforms for promoting and showcasing Indian cinema to the world.

The organisation earlier this month presented Ridham Janve's debut feature The Gold Laden Sheep & the Sacred Mountain at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).
