NHPC pays interim dividend of Rs 840.96 cr for FY2019-20

New Delhi: NHPC Limited, a premier hydropower company and a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Power, has paid an interim dividend of Rs 840.96 crore to the government for the financial year 2019-20. The dividend payout bank advice was presented to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) (Power and New & Renewable Energy) RK Singh by NHPC Limited's Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) AK Singh on March 4, in the presence of Ministry of Power's Secretary Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, Joint Secretary (Hydro) Aniruddha Kumar and NHPC Limited's Director (Personnel) NK Jain, Director (Finance) Mahesh Kumar Mittal, Director (Technical) Janardan Choudhary. NHPC Limited had paid an interim dividend of Rs. 526.53 crore to the government for the fiscal year 2018-19.

NHPC Limited's Board of Directors had declared an interim dividend for the financial year 2019-20 at the rate of Rs 1.18 per equity share i.e. 11.80 percent of the face value in comparison to an interim dividend of Rs 0.71 per equity share i.e. 7.10 percent for the fiscal year 2018-19, in its board meeting held on February 7. As per today, NHPC Limited has seven lakh shareholders (approx) and total interim pay-out for the financial year 2019-20 worked out to Rs 1,185.31 crore, as against Rs 713.20 crore, for financial year 2018-19.

NHPC Limited has earned a net profit of Rs 2,624.26 crore for the nine months ended FY 19-20 as against Rs 2138.26 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
