Raghuram has been recommended for the top post of HSL from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its 6th selection meeting of 2026 held on January 28. These included senior executives from leading public sector undertakings such as Hindustan Shipyard Limited, NTPC Limited, Engineers India Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Cement Corporation of India, Central Warehousing Corporation, THDC India Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and officials from the National Security Council Secretariat, besides Shri Raghuram.
