New Delhi: The government has approved the appointments of these three officers in the Ministry of Home Affairs at Deputy Secretary and Director level. Here is the list:

1. Chanchal Yadav (IAS) has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. She was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to the DoPT order, she has been appointed to the post for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Yadav is a 2008-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of AGMUT cadre. She is currently serving as Special Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

2. Juhi Verma (IDAS) has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. She was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Defence. According to a DoPT order, she has been selected for appointment to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post, until further orders, whichever is earlier. Juhi is an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer of 2010-batch. She is currently serving as Joint Controller at Principal Controller Defence Accounts (R&D) in the Ministry of Defence.

3. Asif Jalal (IPS) has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). According to the DoPT order, he has been selected for appointment to the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post until further orders, whichever is earlier. Asif is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 2002-batch. He is currently serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Southern Range, Shimla.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is mainly responsible for the maintenance of internal security and domestic policy. The Home Ministry is headed by Amit Shah. The Home Ministry is also the cadre controlling authority for the Indian Police Service (IPS), DANIPS and DANICS. Police-I Division of the ministry is the cadre controlling authority in respect of the Indian Police Service; whereas, the UT Division is the administrative division for DANIPS.
