New Delhi: The ‘Constitution Day,’ also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated on November 26 every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. And the day was celebrated with a lot of zeal and fervour across public sector undertakings (PSUs) in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the ‘Constitution Day’ on October 11, 2015, while laying the foundation stone of BR Ambedkar’s Statue of Equality memorial in Mumbai. The year 2015 was the 125th birth anniversary of Ambedkar, who had chaired the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly and had played a pivotal role in the drafting of the Constitution. The Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, and it came into effect on January 26, 1950. Previously, November 26 was celebrated as Law Day.

BEML Limited celebrated ‘Constitution Day’ across all its units and offices to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India on November 26, 1949.
At the corporate office in Bangalore, BEML‘s Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Kumar Hota, along with functional Directors, administered a pledge to the employees and officers with emphasis on the Preamble and importance of the Constitution.
HUDCO‘s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr M Ravi Kanth read out the preamble of the Constitution to commemorate the occasion.
Kanth highlighted the contributions made by Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India and reiterated the need to follow the tenets of the Constitution in letter and spirit.
Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Limited (REIL)
On the occasion, REIL‘s Managing Director Dr AK Jain read out the Preamble of the Constitution before all employees and the latter repeated after him.
While speaking on the occasion, Jain said that the Constitution of the world’s largest democracy was adopted on this day. He said that the purpose of celebrating ‘Constitution Day’ is to spread its importance.
On the occasion of ‘Constitution Day,’ NHPC Limited‘s Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Balraj Joshi read out the Preamble to the ‘Constitution of India’ at its headquarters in Gurgaon (Haryana).
On the occasion, NHPC’s Director (Projects) Ratish Kumar, NHPC’s Director (Personnel) NK Jain and NHPC’s Director (Finance) MK Mittal were also present.
RINL-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) collective administered the ‘Constitution Day Pledge’ in all the departments to mark the Constitution Day on Tuesday. RINL’s Executive Director (Works) I/c KV Vidya Sagar administered the pledge with the Head of Departments in works division.
Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP)
Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) joined the rest of the country in the observance of ‘Constitution Day.’ At various offices and units of the plant, the Preamble of the Constitution was read out and a pledge was administered.
On the occasion, RSP’s CEO Dipak Chattaraj, along with other senior officers, took the pledge. In similar ceremonies organised at different departments, RSP’s ED (P&A) Raj Vir Singh, ED (Works) Gautam Banerjee, ED (MM) DK Mohapatra, ED (Projects) Pankaj Kumar and other senior officers and employees took the pledge.
